Registration

The CPAT Orientation on December 30th, will take place at Lockwood Fire District at 501 Johnson Lane, Billings MT 59101. It will be located in the building directly behind the fire station, parking is located on the North side of the fire station.

• The deadline to register for this orientation is December 26th, 2024.

The CPAT Orientation, Practice Test and Test will take place at the Metra Park Pavillion, 308 6th Avenue North Billings, Montana 59101 on January 31st and February 1st, 2025.

• The deadline to register for this orientation is January 27th, 2025

The physical ability test administered by the Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium is the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF)/International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Candidate Physical Ability Test© (CPAT).

CPAT rules require that you attend CPAT Orientation and CPAT Practice Tests prior to your actual CPAT. You may waive these requirements however you are highly encouraged to attend, especially if you have never taken the CPAT. You will be required to sign a waiver if you do not attend the CPAT Orientation and the CPAT Practice Test.

CPAT Orientation is a walkthrough and practice of each station.

CPAT Practice Test is a timed attempt at the full course. CPAT Practice Test results cannot be used in lieu of the official CPAT Test.

CPAT Test (January 31st and February 1st) is the official timed International Association of Firefighters (IAFF)/International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Candidate Physical Ability Test© (CPAT). Successful completion of this test is required to apply with member departments of the Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium.
